(ABC 6 News) — Despite Kasson-Mantorville softball falling short of a state appearance on Thursday, KoMets head coach Paul Mann is not disappointed in his team in the slightest.

"These girls were just awesome, great," Coach Mann stated. "They had a great season overall, I know it’s not the ending that we wanted but you know, highlights, you know, took us four tries against Byron. Finally, the fourth one got us back to this game from a year ago and you know, we were right there. Number one team in state and these girls laid it all out just like we talked about all year, so real proud of them.

The coach also tipped his hat to his seniors as well, which included the likes of Catiera Thome and Libby Maxson among others.

"Win or lose, we’re going to make sure we’re fighting all the way to the end so," Mann continued. "They just live by it, they believed in it, this group of seniors they just went out and showed they could do that all the time and just battled hard."

Five current juniors are poised to return next season, including infielder Aubrey Abbott and former Prep of the Week pitcher Ella Babcock.
