(ABC 6 News) – The Honkers pulled off one of their more improbable victories of the season when they rallied from a 9-1 deficit to beat the St. Cloud Rox Thursday afternoon.

Trailing 11-9 in the 9th, Michael Carico lifted a high fly ball that cleared the left-field wall for a walk-off grand slam. The win over the first-place Rox improved the Honkers to 6-10 on the season and gave them momentum heading into the second game of their doubleheader.

In the second game, the Rox jumped to a 2-0 lead in the 2nd inning on Ethan Mann’s 2-run homer. The Honkers would respond in the bottom of the third inning when Alex Pimental smacked a 3-run homer in the bottom of the third to take a 3-2 lead.

Unfortunately for the Honkers, it would be their only run of the game. St. Cloud scored 8 runs in the fourth, 6 runs in the 7th, and 3 in the 9th en route to a 19-3 victory.
