Hayfield takes down Spring Grove in Section 1A semifinals

(ABC 6 News) — The Section 1A favorite Hayfield Vikings took on fourth-seed Spring Grove in the section’s semifinals Saturday.
The defending Class A state champions didn’t have easy against Spring Grove, the Lions making a few scores as well as defensive stands. Elijah Solum sunk not one but two eanred baskets for Spring Grove when Hayfield’s Easton Fritcher finally broke what was a dry spell for Hayfield.
That spell wouldn’t return for the Vikings as they finished off the Lions 54-40 to advance to the Section 1A Championship.
The Vikings will play the third-seed Goodhue Wildcats on March 17th at the Civic Center.
