(ABC 6 News) – There’s one business that’s catching a lot of attention on social media and around our area. It’s called the Comb Over! It’s a mobile salon.

I had the chance to go there and talk to the owners about it. The community is excited about this too.

"I’ve never seen anything like this before, It’s really cool. I saw the van parked there and I thought I need a haircut," Scott Thompson, an Albert Lea resident said.

The mobile salon is the talk of the town.

"We have a lot of customers who are driving by. We’ve get great questions asked," Katie Snow, co-founder of The Comb Over said.

Katie Snow and her sister Erin Mikkalson wanted to do something different, taking haircuts on the go to meet people in different towns.

Katie does the bookkeeping, Erin cuts the hair, and Katie’s husband drives this mobile salon to every location they go to. This is quite a family effort.

"You just got to take the plunge," Erin Mikkalson said.

This is the first week the mobile salon is in business. I’m told over the last few days, they have seen over 40 customers.

"We’re getting amazing feedback from our customers and just saying this is a great idea, can we peek our head in? Well, since we’re here can we get our haircut? Our customers are really appreciating the different locations and the different towns. It’s been great and everyone has enjoyed the concept and getting their haircut," Snow said.

One of those locations, Fleet Farm in Rochester.

"We appreciate all of the businesses that have supported the Comb Over Mobile Hair Salon," Snow said.

In our area over the next week, The Comb Over is traveling to Kasson, Stewartville, Owatonna, and back to Rochester.

Even with all the traveling, Katie and Erin are in this together.

"Her and I are very close, so working in close quarters is even better for us," Snow said.

Her sister agrees.

"The future looks like a lot of mobile hair salons everywhere," Mikkalson said.

These sisters are excited about their new adventure, and the community is too.

"This is great, I love the idea. They can go anywhere and the salon is really cool looking," Thompson said.
