Group of bicycle riders hit by car near Mapleton

(ABC 6 News) – Friday morning at approximately 7:40am, Blue Earth County deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash involving bicyclists on County Road 7 near 111th Street south of Mapleton.
Jenna Phuong-Thao Luong, 30, was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Volt south on County Road 7 and collided with a group of bicycle riders also traveling south.
A total of five bike riders were struck by the vehicle resulting in injuries ranging from minor to serious.
Jenna Phuong-Thao Luong was the only occupant of her vehicle and was uninjured.
The group of bike riders consisted of one adult and seven juveniles.
Additional names are being withheld to ensure notifications can be made to families.
Agencies that assisted at the scene included the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office, Mapleton Police and Fire, Minnesota Lake Ambulance, Mayo Ambulance and Mayo Air.
The crash remains under investigation in conjunction with the Minnesota State Patrol.
