Garad Robles mother testifies in Abukar murder trial
(ABC 6 News) – The jury trial of a Rochester man accused in the shooting death of Garad Roble in 2019 continued Monday.
Muhidin Abukar is charged with 2nd-degree murder with intent in the death of 28-year-old Garad Hassan Roble. Abukar has pleaded not guilty in April of 2020.
In court, the jury heard from a detective who extracted data from Roble and Abukar’s phones.
Testimony revealed that they were able to track the movement of the phones throughout the city, as well as find a video of a car on MnDOT cameras to get a better picture of what happened the night Roble died, which was presented to the jury.
Roble’s mother also took the stand to talk about her son and his upbringing. Abukar was given the opportunity to take the stand but he chose not to.
Closing arguments are scheduled to take place Tuesday. The case would then be handed off to the jury.
