(ABC 6 News) — Former Albert Lea High School counselor and girls’ basketball coach Richard Polley has pleaded not guilty to 3rd-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Polley was arrested earlier this month after a student told investigators that she and Polley had sexual intercourse at his home.

After Polley was arrested on those allegations, he was placed on administrative leave from the Albert Lea School District. About a week later, he was fired.

Polley’s trial is scheduled to start in October.
