Driver brought to Saint Marys after semi, truck crash near Pine Island

(ABC 6 News) – The driver of a semi was brought to Saint Marys in Rochester following a crash with a truck Thursday afternoon near Pine Island.

According to crash reports from the Minnesota State Patrol, the semi was headed north on Highway 52 just after noon when a Ford Ranger turned off 500th St onto the highway and the two collided.

The driver of the semi, 65-year-old Allen Mccolman of Carver, was taken to the hospital. The 82-year-old driver of the ranger was not hurt.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Road conditions are listed as being wet at the time of the crash.

The crash caused traffic to back up in the area. A secondary crash between two vehicles was reported but there were no injuries.
