Driftless Disc Course at Gamehaven Park opens October 8

(ABC 6 News) – A championship-caliber disc golf course will open to the public starting on October 8.

Driftless Disc course at Gamehaven Park includes a 9-hole recreational course and an 18-hole championship-caliber course. The request for the opening of the course has been strong throughout construction and the course is now at a point where it is safe to play while the remaining work on the project is completed.

Some of the remaining work includes the installation of disc course signage, playground safety improvements, and clean-up from the larger park construction project.

Mike Nigbur, Parks & Forestry Division Head, shares, “In 2014 the Master Plan for Gamehaven Park included the concept of a championship-caliber disc course. Today we are delivering on that commitment and expanding upon that original vision with the opening of the Driftless Disc. In total, there are 27 holes of play in this one park. The 18-hole championship-caliber course and the recreational 9-hole course have surpassed my expectations by including some of the best views of the park and creating connections with the natural environment. I think there will be great appreciation for the prairie, woods, water, and our unique geology as park users make their way through the course.”
