COVID case identified at RPS elementary school

(ABC 6 News) – A case of COVID-19 has been confirmed at Longfellow Elementary School in Rochester.

The district said it contacted families and sent a letter home on Wednesday.

RPS said they are following its standard mitigation and quarantine practices, and that the case is not impacting the school plans.

This is the first case that has impacted Longfellow elementary school since it began in July. The school is on a 45-15 schedule, meaning students will attend for 45 days and then have three weeks off.

The district said its COVID dashboard website will be updated once school is underway. The dashboard is a week behind as it captures the previous weeks’ data.
