(ABC 6 News) – Something fun happened in Rochester on Saturday, and it involves stuffed animals.

Kids gathered at Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo to learn from summer interns about the importance of veterinary care for animals.

One of those interns Sonali Shah is interested in veterinary medicine. So, she decided anyway that she can show kids what she’s passionate about can go a long way.

"It’s great for them to learn so we kind of explain what we’re doing and then I have a sheet where I print off the heart rates, temperatures, and respiration rates for the different animals. So we are giving them correct information so that a little bit of that will go into their head," Shah said.

These events run every Saturday so there will be a new one next week.
