Car drives wrong way from Rochester to almost Kasson
(ABC 6 NEWS) – An arrest was made Thursday night after a driver was spotted going the wrong way on Highway 14.
A vehicle was spotted driving west, in eastbound lanes, on the west side of Rochester at around 8:50 pm. Law enforcement reports many vehicles were forced to take evasive action and ended up in the median or ditch.
The incident caused at least one crash in Olmsted County. Both Olmsted and Dodge County officials pursued the driver, finally using a rolling stop method, to bring the incident to an end.
The driver was a 25-year-old male from Faribault was taken to St Mary’s Hospital after claiming the incident happened, in part, due to a medical condition, however, law enforcement said there were indications that impairment may have been a factor.
A search warrant for a blood draw was requested and approved and then collected at St Mary’s Hospital. Charges are currently pending.
