(ABC 6 News) — It’s on to the playoffs now.

The Austin Bruins and Aberdeen Wings played their final game of the NAHL regular season Saturday, a day after Austin took out Aberdeen, 2-1.

The third period was intense with the game tied 2-2 around the five minute mark. The Wings’ Devon Carlstrom scoring a clutch go-ahead goal until Austin Alex Trombley one-upped him. Trombley scored an equalizer with 50 seconds in regulation, forcing overtime.

But a season finale victory was not meant to be, Carl Neilson for Aberdeen sniping the game winner for a 4-3 final decision. Both teams will now put their focus on the Robertson Cup Playoffs. The Bruins in particular will have home-ice advantage against their future opponent.
