Body found near train tracks in NW Rochester Wednesday morning

(ABC 6 News) – The Rochester Police Department has identified the victim as a 25-year-old man from Rochester. The man’s name has not been released.

Rochester Police received a call Wednesday morning that a body had been found by train tracks in NW Rochester.

Police said a person was riding their bike in the area and noticed the body and called police.

Officers arrived shortly after 6:30 and located a body near the tracks at 5th St and 3rd Ave NW.

Police said it appears the person was hit by a train but were not immediately able to tell if it was an accident or a suicide.

An investigation is ongoing.
