Banfield teacher named 2022 APS Austin Teacher of the Year

(ABC 6 News) – Austin Public Schools named the 2022 Austin Teacher of the Year Tuesday morning.
Banfield Elementary School 3rd grade teacher John Schneider has been recognized with the award.
Mr. Schneider was surprised in his classroom with the announcement and even some members of his family were there to share in the moment.
"I do want to say thank you to my family too because they put up with a lot, I do a lot of work at home so this is awesome," said Mr. Schneider during the surprise.
"And all the kids, this is actually one of the greatest classes I’ve had. They all work so hard. Actually, they are the reason that I do it. Just to see them grow and to make progress. This is awesome."
