Austin robbery suspect arrested in Lyle charged with fleeing peace officer, assault

(ABC 6 News) – A man arrested after a chase from Austin to Lyle Friday faces multiple felony charges in Mower County Court.

Adrick Mims of Rochester was charged Monday with felony robbery while possessing a dangerous weapon, felony 2nd degree assault with a dangerous weapon, and felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle.

Mims is a suspect in at least one armed robbery in Austin.

While a gas station attendant reported being robbed at knifepoint Friday, an off-duty officer saw a suspect exit the gas station and flee the area at a high rate of speed.

Austin and Lyle police, and Mower and Mitchell County sheriffs searched the town of Lyle Friday afternoon and found Mims hiding in the bushes near a residence.

He was taken into custody around 6:30 p.m. Friday and appeared in court Monday morning.
