Austin PD report Sunday armed robbery

(ABC 6 News) – Austin police are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery Sunday morning.

At about 10:32 a.m. June 12, an unknown man used a large, silver-bladed knife to rob Reed’s 4th Ave. convenience store (901 4th Ave. NE, Austin).

The suspect pulled the knife out, pointed it at an employee, and demanded money. The employee complied and the suspect fled with an undetermined amount of cash.

A witness followed the suspect to a nearby home and alerted the police. Austin’s Special Incident Response Team cleared the residence, but did not find the suspect.

The suspect was described as a Black man with brown eyes, wearing a "Boys in the Hood" white t-shirt, black pants, and a white medical mask at the time of the robbery.

The employee said she recognized the man as a frequent customer, but didn’t know his name.
