(ABC 6 News) – In recognition of Veterans Day coming up on Nov. 11, Aspen Dental locations nationwide opened their doors to provide free dental care to military veterans for its "Day of Service."

Saturday at Aspen Dental in Rochester, Veterans were given dental care at no cost to honor their service and to break down barriers to health care.

"They provided us with service so I feel like it’s just something we should always give back. It feels great to give service to them too," Dr. Jognseuk Lim, Managing Clinic Director at Aspen Dental in Rochester, said.

Millions of Americans struggle to access dental care every year and Veterans in the U.S. are not eligible for dental benefits through the Veterans Administration unless they’re 100 percent disabled, have a service-related mouth injury, or are a prisoner of war.

This is the seventh year of this "Day of Service." The Aspen Dental location in Mason City participated in this on Saturday as well.
