(ABC 6 News) — The Rochester A’s went into Byron territory and did what many teams were unable to do during high school baseball season: get a win.

In legion baseball action Thursday night, the A’s (Rochester Century) beat Byron 5-3. The A’s tallied more hits than the Byron but entering the top of the 7th, the game was tied at 3.

With the bases loaded, Byron pitcher Owen Kroc managed to get a strikeout for the first out. The A’s Sam Johnston came up to bat next and brought in two runs with an RBI single. Byron was able to get out of the inning with a double play on the next batter but the damage had already been done.

Byron tallied two hits in the bottom of the seventh and was in a position to tie the game and take the lead, but the A’s defense held firm.
