Around a dozen shell casings found after weekend shooting in NW Rochester

(ABC 6 News) – The Rochester Police Department is investigating a shooting in northwest Rochester over the weekend.

Police said the shooting happened Saturday morning around 4:40 at the Timberland Apartment complex.

A black SUV was seen in the parking lot at the apartment complex. Witnesses told police someone was shooting from inside the SUV either up into the air or up at one of the apartment buildings before driving off.

Police said officers found approximately 13 shell casings in the parking lot. One bullet hit a stairwell at the apartment and two unoccupied vehicles in the parking lot were also hit. No one was hurt.

The RPD said officers were called to the same complex earlier in the day for a fight but said they don’t know if the two calls are related.

The shooting remains under investigation. No arrests had been made as of Monday morning.
