Area public health departments partnering with schools to provide COVID vaccination clinic for ages 5-11

(ABC 6 News) – Local public health departments are partnering with different schools to offer a COVID vaccination clinic for students ages 5 to 11.

DODGE COUNTY

Dodge County is working with all three school districts in the county to gauge community interest and will schedule clinics as needed. Additional information on potential clinics is expected in the coming days.

FREEBORN COUNTY

Freeborn County Public Health will be holding the following 5-11-year-old COVID vaccination clinics in Albert Lea Elementary Schools.

Please note that the clinics are not limited to only Albert Lea School District children. Any family in Freeborn County or the surrounding area can attend. Below are the links to schedule the appointments.

MOWER COUNTY

Austin Public Schools

A vaccination clinic will take place during the school day on November 19. To receive a vaccine at the clinic, families will need to sign up for a vaccine and complete a consent form by November 12.

"The Pfizer vaccine has been authorized to vaccinate youth ages 5-11 and the pediatric dose will be the only vaccine administered at this time."

"We are working with our medical partners and schools to distribute surveys to parents in each district. We want to understand the need and desire for school located vaccination clinics. Once we identify the need or demand we will work with schools to best address how to move forward."
