5 people injured in Cambridge house explosion

(KSTP) – Five people are recovering after being inside a home when it exploded Saturday morning in Cambridge, north of the metro.

The Isanti County Sheriff’s Office says the explosion happened just after 5:30 a.m.

When firefighters arrived, they found four people inside the house who were injured. The fifth person was in the basement and emergency crews were able to get that person out.

Neighbors say they heard a loud boom early in the morning.

All five of them — three men and two women — were transported to hospitals and are expected to survive.

The victims are believed to be four people in their 40s and one in their 20s.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
