St. Charles hosts blood drive in honor of Braxton Wohlferd

(ABC 6 News) – The city of St. Charles will host a blood drive in honor of a 16-year-old given a second chance after receiving a life-saving organ transplant.

In February, St. Charles sophomore Braxton Wohlferd underwent a heart transplant, requiring a significant amount of blood products.

Now, St. Charles High School and city community members are hosting two blood drives with the Red Cross in Braxton’s honor.

The blood drive will take place on March 20 at St. Charles High School from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and MArch 21 at St. Charles Fire and Ambulance from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
