(ABC 6 News) – A rural Blooming Prairie home is a total loss after an early Friday morning fire.

Emergency crews responded to a house fire around 7:00 a.m. Friday morning at 69261 120th Ave. in rural Blooming Prairie.

A Steele County Sheriff deputy were first on the scene after a neighbor called 9-1-1 whey saw smoke coming from the residence.

The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

The state fire marshal will be investigating the fire to determine a cause.

Authorities blocked off the long driveway leading up to the house, so an ABC 6 News crew could not get any additional information.

Blooming Prairie Fire Department, Hayfield Fire Department, and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office all assisted on the scene.

ABC 6 News will continue to follow this story and provide more information when available.
