UPDATE: Trailer fire near McQuillan Fields in Rochester

(ABC 6 News) – Reports have come in of a trailer fire in Rochester at around 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday, near McQuillan Field.

According to Rochester Fire Department’s report, RFD arrived to the scene and found a fire coming from a rear window of the trailer.

Occupants of the home had escaped by the time of arrival.

RFD began attacking the fire from the exterior and through the window.

After advancing inside, RFD successly put out the fire within the home.

RFD then ventilated the structure, removing any hazardous gases present.

The fire and smoke damage remained at the rear of the trailer.

One occupant of the trailer was treated at the scene by Mayo Clinic Ambulance Services for smoke inhalation and minor burns, but not transported to a hospital.

Rochester Police and Utilities assisted during the incident.

Exact estimates of the damages have not been released.

RFD stated that having functional smoke detectors and quickly calling 911 can limit damage in the event of any type of fire emergency.

RFD encourages you to to test your smoke detectors monthly, change batteries yearly and update smoke detectors every 10 years.
