(ABC 6 News) – The History Center of Olmsted County held their annual Sleigh Rides fundraiser for the Special Olympics on Saturday, with a special twist.

Rather than have the normal sleigh rides, they adjusted to wagon rides; on account of no snow on the ground.

But event organizers say, that’s not going to stop them from having fun for a good cause.

“They’re special people; there’s extra to do with their care, with things they need, I think it’s just a good cause,” said organizer, Monica Davis.

She goes on to say, “the public accepts people like that in society now, so I think it’s really important to pay attention to ’em and do what we can to help out.”

Community members were encouraged to take part in the event and bring their entire families to join in on the fun.
