Dover man dies days after Christmas Eve crash, family begins scholarship in honor

(ABC 6 News) – Following a crash on Christmas Eve in Olmsted County, the sheriff’s office says the driver involved died on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023.

Capt. Tim Parkin with the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office identified the driver as 20-year-old Christian Wolter, of Dover, Minn.

Parkin says there is no additional information available at this time but that, “our thoughts and prayers are with the Wolter family and friends during this difficult time.”

Wolter was the sole person involved in the crash.

The family of Wolter have begun fundraising to settle expenses incurred by Wolter’s mother.

Excess funds would go to starting a scholarship program in his honor.

(ABC 6 News) – One man is in critical condition following a single vehicle crash near Chatfield.

According to Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at the intersection of County Road 30 and 180th Avenue around 3 a.m. on Sunday.

When a deputy arrived on scene, they found a 20-year-old male ejected from his vehicle.

We’re told he’s actively recovering.
