(ABC 6 News)- On Monday, students at John Marshall High School gathered for an ethics day sponsored by the three Rotary Clubs in Rochester.

After almost a year of planning, the Peacebuilding and Ethics Day taught students about making ethical decisions, ways to problem solve and building a peaceful society.

The day-long event was filled with exercises and discussions with the goal of teaching the students tools that can be used wherever they are.

“A lot of the times when we do things it feels like they’re just going to stay at our school or they’re just going to stay kind of within the John Marshall community but being able to expand that was really cool,” said Olivia Ruzek, a junior at John Marshall High School.

The students who participated will have access to an online course that they can complete to receive a certification from NewGen Peacebuilders.
