(ABC 6 News) – Now that the presidential primary in Minnesota has wrapped up, voters now see the impact their vote made.

“I know a lot of people think it’s kind of a forgone conclusion but it’s still important to show up and vote,” Democratic voter Timothy Lipman said.

With President Joe Biden coming out on top for the Democratic side, it was something that DFL members saw coming.

“There are no other serious candidates running there are nine candidates on the ballot, the only two candidates that are actually running are Biden and Phillips,” director of Olmsted 20/24 Mark Liebow said.

The Olmsted County DFL projected there wasn’t going to be a close race which might’ve turned voters away and some polling places felt that absence.

“We’ve had 13 voters that came through,” co-head judge Leslie Harrington said.

That was two hours before the polls closed.

Election officials expressed the importance of voting and why people should use that right.

“We have an obligation to vote, we should be voting in every election,” Harrington said.

Voters who did come in to vote expressed what brought them out on Super Tuesday and what they’re hoping for in the future.

“I’m just hoping that what’s best for the country ends up happening when comes to things like stability, acceptance of different people, the economy, I think there’s a clear solution, but we’ll see,” Lipman said.

So far, Biden has won every democratic primary that’s been called so far.

Biden moves one step closer to the November presidential election, where he would have a shot to defend his presidency.
