(ABC 6 News) – Officer Paul Elmstrand died in a domestic disturbance call gone wrong on Sunday, Feb. 18.

On Tuesday, Elmstrand was remembered in a procession, having been an active member at the Woodridge Church in Medina.

The church’s pastor vividly recalls seeing Elmstrand sitting with his young children in the church.

Now, Zac Bush is helping Elmstrand’s wife and children as they navigate the long journey ahead.

“We want to carry on his life and legacy and memories that are shared to his young children.”

Elmstrand was 27-years-old and had been with Burnsville Police Department since 2017.

There, he served as part of the station’s mobile command staff, honor guard and a field officer.
