(ABC 6 News) – Thursday night was a wild one during a boy’s high school hockey game at the Rochester Recreation Center.

Rochester Century scores and, during the celebration, officials say the students pushing up against the glass caused, not one, but two panels of glass to shatter on the ice.

Ben Boldt with Rochester Parks and Rec said the game stopped for nearly 40 minutes while crew worked to repair the glass.

“So, we kinda keep a spare, one spare of each size. So, we were able to put that in to fix the first panel, to replace it. The second one was as slightly different size, but we were able to just add some foam to the edges of that, so it still created a firm connection with the glass next to it, so that it could work and be serviceable for the remainder of the game,” said Boldt.

The temporary glass is still up there and will have to make do for the Rochester Grizzlies game on Friday night.
