CHATFIELD, Minn. (ABC 6 News) - Two people were arrested following a search of a home Thursday morning in Chatfield revealed a mushroom growing operation.
The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office and Southeast Minnesota Violent Crime Enforcement Team executed a knock and announce narcotics search warrant at a home on the 200 block of Mill Creek Road NW.
Inside deputies found 13 totes with mushrooms in various stages of growth. Some totes were found in a closet with a space heater running and lights over the top. The sheriff's office also said a drying rack and processing station was found in the corner of a bedroom.
Mushrooms were also found in the pantry, fridge and hallway closet.
In total, the teams found 5.43 pounds of suspected psilocybin mushrooms, two shotguns and $400.
The sheriff's office said based on the number of mushrooms found in the common areas of the home both residents are believed to be involved in the operation.
23-year-old Austin Dahl and 23-year-old Kailyn Felker were both arrested. They are facing possible charges of 1st-degree controlled substance sales, 1st-degree controlled substance possession and possession of ammo/firearm by a user of a controlled substance.
