Arctic air moves in prompting Wind Chill Alerts

Arctic air is on the move with the first cold spell of the winter season upon us.

High temperatures on Saturday will occur in the morning with readings in the teens, before the cold air sends temperatures plummeting through the single digits and eventually to near double digits below-zero by Sunday morning.

Temperatures will largely remain below-zero until possibly Tuesday when highs get back to zero or slightly above for highs.

Wind chills will be cold enough where a WIND CHILL ADVISORY has been issued for southeast Minnesota and northeast Iowa from Saturday night through Sunday morning as wind chills will get down to near -25°. Meanwhile, a WIND CHILL WARNING is in effect for areas in north Iowa and further west and south where wind chills may get as cold as -35°.

Wind chill alerts may also be issued for Monday and Tuesday mornings as they are expected to be in the -25° to -30° range.
