(ABC 6 News) – The Mason City Community School District Board of Education decided to have students and staff wear masks indoors when the daily illness rate of a building hits 7% and until it falls below 5%.

The mask requirement goes into effect Monday, September 27.

The decision comes after a federal judge prohibited the state of Iowa from not allowing school districts to require face masks.
