Austin man faces felony charge in connection with Capitol riot

(ABC 6 News) – An Austin man has been charged with a felony in connection to the January 6th Capitol riots.

In papers filed in U.S. District Court, Daniel Johnson has been accused of attempting to commit an act or interfere with the U.S. Capitol Police.

Johnson along with his father Daryl Johnson of St.Ansgar, Iowa had previously been charged with four misdemeanors in connection with the insurrection.

Johnson is among five Minnesotans facing felony charges in the protest that turned violent in January.
