(ABC 6 News) – Friday evening, the weekend-long street festival GreekFest kicked off despite storms in the area.
The annual event has taken place during the last weekend in August since 1963
For the second straight year, the event looks different due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Instead of canceling the event organizers turned into one of the best drive-through parties of the summer.
Drivers don’t mind the wait for their take-out orders either. Cars were lined up around the block while church volunteers make the wait worth the while by dancing, singing, and intertwined with everyone who drives through.
The festival goes through Sunday afternoon. For more information on the event, click here.
