(ABC 6 News) — The Austin Bruins took time on Tuesday to give back to a part of their fanbase.

The NAHL hockey team made a stop at Pacelli Catholic Schools dropping off a $6,300 check. The money was the number of funds raised from the Bruins’ Pacelli night held earlier this year on March 12th, a 2-1 win over the North Iowa Bulls.

Speaking of North Iowa, Toros hockey signed a new lease to stay at Mason City Arena. The NA3HL team made the official announcement Tuesday, the agreement is a multi-year extension and adds to an already existing contract for the Bulls.

The Mason City Toros just missed out on the playoffs this year, after winning the Fraser Cup last season in a 5-1 victory over the Rochester Grizzlies.

The Toros also noted in their announcement that they plan on announcing the team’s very first college commitment later this week.
