(ABC 6 News) – Blood donors in the Rochester community now have a new blood donation option.

The Mayo Clinic Blood Donor program unveiled its brand-new Bloodmobile that will hold both public and private blood drives throughout the community.

According to the Mayo Clinic Blood Donor Center’ it takes approximately 100 blood donors a day to maintain our community’s blood supply.

The Bloodmobile gives the center more opportunities to collect donations from more locations.

“It just makes it that much easier for our host sites, you know, and for the places that we’re going, to make blood donation more accessible to them and make sure that we kinda take some of the stress off of our host sites, and make donating that much more convienient for our donors in the community,” Marketing Recruiting Coordinator Adam Stewart said.

The Bloodmobile held its first blood drive at RCTC and will hold more drives at different locations in the future.
