Stewartville man arrested for violating restraining order

(ABC 6 News) – A Stewartville man is in custody after the sheriff’s office said he violated a restraining order.

The sheriff’s office said deputies went to an apartment on the 600 block of 19th St NW in Rochester Friday around 4 p.m. Deputies were looking for 32-year-old Cory Cody of Stewartville who the sheriff’s office said had violated a harassment restraining order.

Deputies attempted to make contact with Cody inside the apartment but were unsuccessful. Deputies were able to review surveillance video and saw Cody enter the apartment with a woman just before 10:30 Friday morning and they never came out.

A search warrant was obtained and deputies again knocked and attempted to make contact with Cody and the woman. Apartment management provided deputies with a key to the unit. Deputies unlocked the door and continued trying to make contact.

After opening the door Cody exited and was placed under arrest. The woman was also arrested for harboring and aiding Cody. She was not listed on the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center roster Monday morning.
