Victim in Riceville shooting identified by Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office

(ABC 6 News) – The Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office has identified a man killed in a Riceville, Iowa shooting Friday evening.

According to Mitchell County sheriff Greg Beaver, at 7:14 p.m. Feb. 23, the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting in the 500 block of Walnut Avenue.

Responders found 34-year-old Acea Spiegeler dead at the scene from a gunshot wound.

“Early indications in the investigation is that the parties involved knew each other, the community remains safe, and this incident is isolated to the facts and location involved in the night of February 23,” Beaver said in a press release.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office at 641-732-4740 and request to speak to Deputy Tyler Rothmeyer.

(ABC 6 News) – A shooting in Riceville Friday night is now under investigation according to officials with Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office.

MCSO was not able to provide any further details at this time, saying more information will be released on Monday.

ABC 6 News also reached out to Howard County Sheriff’s Office, who said they were not able to confirm any details surrounding the shooting or if there is an investigation.
