Social-ICE wraps up another successful year in the Med City, with Saturday’s Fam-Jam event.

(ABC 6 News) – Social-ICE wraps up another successful year in the Med City, with Saturday’s Fam-Jam event.

Attendants could hear the excitement as hundreds from across Southern Minnesota came to downtown Rochester, to celebrate an afternoon of fun with the kids.

From curling, to mini-golf; Saturday’s event was a chance for anyone to enjoy some family-friendly fun before the final night of Social-ICE.

“It’s been really nice, it’s not too cold and everybody’s having fun. It’s amazing, they run around they have lots of fun, it’s really good to see them all have fun out here,” said Rochester resident, Nicole Vinz.

Events like this are the perfect moment for some fun with the kids, that’s easy on your wallet.

“They love all the free activities, any free activity is always a good activity for parents; they enjoy bopping around. We did some smore’s and made sun catchers,” said Holly Snyder, Zumbrota resident.

Though the event is meant to celebrate the joys of winter, it doesn’t quite feel like it outside. But the warmer weather makes it easy for families to sit back and relax, while enjoying the event.

“I kind of just love the smell, the ambiance of it, I love setting the state so the smoking going,” said Snyder. “You can just feel it’s a good family event, with the music, I love the ambiance.”

Whether you want to check out the Fam-Jam event, see the ice sculptures or see what local vendors have to offer; there’s something for everyone.

“I would say just try it out, you can always leave if you don’t like it; but if you stay, have a drink you can watch people, and have a good time,” said Vinz.

If you haven’t been to Social-ICE before, there’s always next year. Local residents say you won’t regret it.
