(ABC 6 News) – Back in October, more than 80,000 undocumented migrants in Minnesota were made eligible to take the written drivers test to earn a license.

Now, many of those people can start putting their skills to the test. With thousands of undocumented immigrants earning a a drivers license, car dealerships hop on the opportunity to seal more deals.

“It almost makes the situation easier because we know when we’re selling a car to this individual, that they’ll have the proper information,” said Ben Saxon of Saxon Auto Group in Oakdale, Minn.

Since going into effect on Oct. 1, 2023, DVS has seen 46,000 more non-English written tests compared to 2022.
