14-year-old seriously hurt in ATV accident over the weekend

(ABC 6 News) – A 14-year-old boy is in the hospital following an ATV accident in Orion Township over the weekend, according to the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Department.

The sheriff’s office said the boy was riding a 3-wheeler around the family’s property Saturday afternoon, an activity he was known to do. The boy’s parents left the home for a short time and when they returned they found the boy unresponsive with a head injury.

The boy was taken by helicopter to Saint Marys. According to a GoFundMe set up for the family, he is in a coma and has undergone multiple surgeries.

As of 10:15 Monday morning, the GoFundMe was more than halfway to its goal of $10,000.
