Mild weather is here to stay…mostly

We took a one day break from the mild weather on Friday with cloudy skies and even a few flurries. Thanks to mild weather coming back and the warm weather before the snow arrived, it was unable to accumulate. Temperatures drop from the 40s on Saturday afternoon into the mid to low-30s on Sunday morning. We are right back into the low to mid-50s on Sunday.

Monday remains the warmest day in the next week or so. Highs are expected to top out in the 60s in what will be one of the warmest days in southeast Minnesota and northern Iowa in February on record.

We do hit a road block in the mild weather after this. A larger system passes through Tuesday into Wednesday. Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible well to our southeast of us. In our area, we are expecting mostly snow. Totals are trending lighter at the moment. Although, mild weather returns heading into March, and any snow we do get will melt away fast.
