(ABC 6 News) – The Austin Police Department is asking for the public’s help in an armed robbery.

The department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred just before 3 p.m. on Sunday at Cheers Liquor.

Police say that the suspect pointed a knife at the employee and demanded money from the register. Details on how much money was taken is not being released due to the investigation and they say that no one was injured.

Chief David McKichan said Austin police have not "eliminated the possibility" that the robbery and a June 12 armed robbery at Reed’s are related.
