At least one killed in two separate crashes in Wabasha County

(ABC 6 News) – At least one person was killed after two separate vehicle crashes happened within 15 minutes of each other Friday afternoon.
Both crashes happened around 4 p.m., the first injury crash was 1 mile west of Plainview on MN Highway 247 and 265th Ave.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a pickup driven by 42-year-old Robert Weis of Plainview was west on Highway 247, when he stopped to turn south onto 265th Avenue.
A Jeep Renegade driven by 46-year-old Shannon Nelson of Plainview and her two passengers, 20-year-old Lillianna Van De Walker and 81-year-old Gloria Nelson, rear-ended the pickup. The Jeep Renegade then spun around and collided with Jeep Cherokee driven by 20-year-old Jacklyn Matson of Albert Lea.
Robert Weis, Shannon Nelson, and Lillianna Van De Walker all suffered what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
Emergency crews in Wabasha County are responding two separate crashes Friday afternoon.
14 minutes later, the Minnesota State patrol says a chain reaction crash killed at least one person on Highway 42, south of Kellogg.
The state patrol said a Chevy Blazer driven by an 81-year-old man from Rochester was south on Highway 42, when he was rear-ended by a Chevy Pickup driven by a 22-year-old Kellogg man. A Ford Escape driven by a 69-year-old Plainview then rear-ended the Chevy Blazer.
More information is expected to be released on Saturday morning.
