(ABC 6 News) – A garage, its contents, vehicle and RV are a total loss after a fire in southeast Rochester late Monday morning.

At 10 a.m., Rochester Fire and Olmsted County deputies were called to the 4100 Block of Maple Court SE for a report of a garage on fire.

When crews arrived, a triple-stall detached garage was fully engulfed in flames. The fire had not spread to the nearby house.

Because the fire occurred in a rural area with no fire hydrants, RFD utilized a tanker truck to supply water. Crews remained on scene for roughly two hours ensuring the fire was extinguished.

“One of the challenges we have when we have fires in the rual area is we don’t have fire hydrants out here. So we had to bring our own water so we used our tanker trucks for that. We did a couple refills for that,” RFD Motor operator K.C. Clark said.

The building, contents, vehicle and RV are all considered total losses. . The cause has not yet been determined.

One person in the home was alerted to the fire by a neighbor and there were no injuries.

Olmsted County Sherriff’s, Mayo Clinic Ambulance, Minnesota Energy all responded to the scene.
