(ABC 6 News) - The number one ranked Stewartville Tigers are ready for the challenge of playing the best in Minnesota at the 2019 state tournament.
The Tigers come in 27-4, and have been a powerhouse with a deep lineup of hitters. Despite only senior Kaitylyn Prondzinski having experience at the state tournament, Head Coach John Dzubay has confidence in his team's abilities, and is pushing consistency on them.
"Sometimes teams are really hot against us to begin with and we can fall behind, but then you just got to stay steady and it'll come back to us. If we just keep playing the way we can play, we should be alright," Dzubay said.
For the players, there isn't any reason to change what has been working. Now it's about focus and enjoying the remaining moments of the season.
"It's my last 3 games. So I'm just trying to do everything I can for my team to end the way we want to end," Prondzinski said.
The Tigers play Annandale Thursday at 5 pm at the Excel Energy Center.
