(ABC 6 News)- This Saturday is the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship at the Spring Creek Motocross Park in Millville.

“Every week after we race the bike we completely tear it down clean all the parts inspect them, replace anything that needs to be replaced,” Honda Geico Mechanic and St. Charles native Alex Campbell said.  “Then the day before we go out to the tracks, normally on a Thursday, we fly back from California and rebuild them from the frame up, make sure everything is good to go for the rider and is safe and is race ready.”

Campbell and the Honda Geico factory team arrived in Rochester on Wednesday to start rebuilding the dirt bikes and will return to the factory on Sunday after the race.

“We normally are out here for ten hours,” Campbell said.   “From complete tear down, to having it back able to ride again in labor is probably 24 hours, if you don’t have anything ready or parts prepped.”

The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship Race is set for Saturday at Spring Creek Motocross Park in Millville.  The race is set to begin at 11 A.M.
