Rochester's Med City FC Holds Tryouts for Upcoming Season

(ABC 6 News) – It may be the middle of winter, but a local soccer team is gearing up for summer.

Med city FC held tryouts on Saturday afternoon in preparation for their 2019 season. The team is looking to add as many as 12 new players to their team.

"It’s a really tough conference and that's why it's so important to find the best players both locally and from around the world,” General Manager Frank Spaeth said during tryouts. “I think that's what's been really great about our team is that we've been able to integrate a number of really good local players with talented guys from as many as 11 countries the last couple of years so I think that's what makes us unique.”

Spaeth also said that many players from last year’s team will be returning this summer.

Med City FC will open their season with a non-conference game on May 11 and they will play until late July.
